Day 01 |
Pinnawala - The elephant Orphanage |
The tour will begin in the morning with a visit to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala. It is an elephant orphanage, nursery and a captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at the Pinnawala village, which is 13 km. (8.1 miles) northwest of the Kegalle town. (78km (48 miles) away from Colombo) It is notable for having the largest herd of captive elephants in the world in 2011. There are elephants of three generations living in the Pinnawla orphanage. |

Visit to Sigiriya |

After having a lifetime experience with the elephants, the journey will proceed to Sigiriya - The Lion Rock. It is an ancient palace of a Sinhala King, located in the Central Matale district. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft) in height. According to ancient chronicles, King Kashyapa selected this place as his capital and built the palace on the top of the rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. A gate way was also built in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place derive from this structure - Singhagiri - the LION ROCK, which was abandoned after the king's death. Today it is a UNESCO listed world heritage site. The journey shall then proceed to Habarana where you could enjoy a peaceful sleep out |

Day 02 |
Kandy |
Next day you we will head towards the magnificent fortress city of Kandy the most visited and beautiful city in Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of the hills in the Kandy plateau. It is the second largest city in the country after Colombo and the last capital of the ancient Sri Lanka and at present the capital of the hill country. It is the home of the temple of the tooth relic, one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world where you shall witness a pooja that is done to worship the tooth relic and you would also be able to listen to the rhythmic drumming of the Kandyan drummers. The city was declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO in 1988. You could find time to scroll around the beautiful lake of the city too towards the evening and you could relax at night in this city surrounded by its natural scenic beauty. |

Day 03 |
Nuwara Eliya |
The following morning you shall leave for Nuwara Eliya, a beautiful hill country town formerly built by the British Planters and beautiful breathtaking sceneries laid down on hills that are 6187 feet above sea levels. The tea carpeted hills and high country vegetation is decorated with cascading water falls. After visiting the Ramboda waterfall which is 329 ft. high the tour goes on to the Hakgala gardens which is famous for its collection of roses and fernery. The city overlooks the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka - Pidurutalagala. By the end of the day you will get the opportunity of spending the night with the picturesque surroundings and the temperate weather of Nuwara Eliya. |

Day 04 |
Colombo City |
In the morning you will start the return journey to Colombo. This will be your final day of the tour and you can spend time by sightseeing around the city. The Capital City of Sri Lanka, Colombo is a place where there is a fine blending of the old and the new architecture. It is an ideal location for shopping, designer wear, hand loom products, cotton and linen wear, handmade leather handbags and shoes, gems and jewellery. You have the option to visit either the Kelaniya temple (which is famous for its mural paintings) or the Colombo National Museum or the Mt. Lavinia beach (One of the best beaches close to Colombo) |
