    Day 01

    Pinnawala - The elephant Orphanage

    You journey will begin with a visit to Pinnawala. It is an elephant orphanage, nursery and a captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at the Pinnawala village, which is 78km (48 miles) away from Colombo. The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to many of the orphaned, unwanted wild elephants found wondering in and near forests of Sri Lanka. Visitors to the park can view the care and daily routine of the elephants such as bottle feeding of the calves feeding of all other elephants and bathing in the river close by.

    After having enjoyed seeing the elephants, you will proceed to Habarana via Dambulla for your night stay.

    Dambulla

    Dambulla is the largest and the best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 meters over the surrounding plains. There are over 80 documented caves in the surroundings. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves which contain statues and paintings. The main paintings and statues are related to the Lord Buddha's life

    Day 02

    Sigiriya

    The following morning we will visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which belongs to the 05th century: which was a royal citadel for over 18 years. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft) in height. According to ancient chronicles, King Kashyapa selected this place as his capital and built the palace on the top of the rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. A gate way was also built in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place derive from this structure the LION ROCK. Today it is a UNESCO listed world heritage site.

    After Sigiriya, our next visit will be to Kandy. After touring around the city, you could retire for the night at a place surrounded with the scenic beauty of this hill country city.

    Day 03

    Kandy

    Picturesquely located the most beautiful city in the Island. Regarded as Sri Lanka's cultural center and the final kingdom, Kandy is the home for the unique Sri Lankan dancing style. You can also pay a visit to the Dalada Maligawa; the golden roofed temple which homes the tooth relic of the Buddha. The Peradeniya botanical gardens is another beautiful location known for its' bio-diversity. Kandy is also an ideal shopping location for gems, jewellery and traditional handcrafts.

    On the third day the journey will proceed to Nuwara Eliya through the Ramboda pass which has beautiful sceneries.

    Day 04

    Nuwara Eliya

    Nuwara Eliya, is a beautiful hill country town formerly built by the British Planters and beautiful breathtaking sceneries laid down on hills that are 6187 feet above sea levels. The tea carpeted hills and high country vegetation is decorated with cascading water falls. After visiting the Ramboda waterfall which is 329 ft. high the tour goes on to the Hakgala gardens which is famous for its collection of roses and fernery. By the evening you can enjoy walking around the city park and the lake. The city overlooks the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka - Pidurutalagala. You will be spending the night at Nuwara Eliya.

    Day 05

    Yala National Park

    The tour will take another direction on the fifth day. From Nuwara Eliya we will be leaving for Yala, the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks. It covers 979 square kilometers (378 sq. meters) and is located about 300kilo meters (190 miles) from Colombo. Yala was designed as a wild life sanctuary in 1900. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, SL Leopards and aquatic birds.

    Sure you would be excited to spend the night in a bungalow experiencing a stay surrounded by wild life.

    Day 06

    Galle and Colombo

    The next morning we will be heading for Galle driving along Sri Lanka's beautiful southern coastline. Galle is a major city in Sri Lanka situated on the southwestern tip of the island. It is 119 kms from Colombo and the capital of the Southern Province. It is the best example of a fortified city built by the Portugese in the South and South East Asia, showing the interaction between Portugese architecture styles and native traditions. The city was extensively fortified by the Dutch in the 17th century. The Galle Fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by the European occupiers.

    Other prominent landmarks in Galle include city's natural harbor, and the national maritime museum.

    You will be spending the night in Colombo.

    Day 07

    The last day of the tour - Sightseeing in the capital city - Colombo after returning from down south.

    The capital city of Sri Lanka, it has lot of attractions for tourists. Galle Face green is ribbon of green space located in the heart of the Indian Ocean coast and is a popular destination for tourists and residents alike. The Galle Face hotel is a historic landmark on the southern edge of the promenade. The Gangaramaya temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo. The architecture demonstrates an eclectic use of Sri Lanka, Indian and Chinese architecture. The Viharamahadevi (formerly Victoria park) park is also a place you can pay a visit. Colombo is also a city where there is a fine blending of the old and the new of architecture. Ideal location for shopping designer wear, handloom products, cotton and linen wear handmade leather handbags and shoes, jems and jewellery.
